Cynthia Quiles currently appears as “Frankie” on the hit ABC/Hulu sitcom Shifting Gears, starring alongside Tim Allen and Kat Dennings. She’s best known for her breakout run on Season 2 of the Paramount+ hit Why Women Kill and her memorable turn on Season 5 of the CW’s Dynasty.
Her additional network credits include American Horror Stories (FX/HULU), Mr. Mayor (NBC) opposite Ted Danson, Station 19 (ABC), All Rise, and many more. She has also led multiple indie features, bringing her signature mix of intensity, warmth, and vulnerability to every role.
Cynthia trained extensively in the Master Class at the Beverly Hills Playhouse under Howie Deutsch and spent time improv training at Groundlings. Earlier in her career, she emerged in the Ridley Scott–produced thriller Phoenix Forgotten and later played a cop opposite Dean Cain in the action indie State of Ward. She has collaborated with renowned directors, including Spike Jonze, who hand-selected her for his project We Were Once a Fairytale on the spot in the audition room.
Don’t be fooled by her angelic looks. Cynthia is equal parts elegance and edge. Think evening gown and combat boots: big Manga eyes, bow lips, a steel-trap mind, and the physicality to flip a perp twice her size without breaking a sweat.
Born in Puerto Rico and raised on the East Coast, Cynthia is book-smart, grounded, and full of heart. A true lover of cars and anything that moves fast, she’s also an articulate martial artist who has trained alongside LAPD. When she’s not on set, you can find her embarking on an adventure or practicing Krav Maga.
